European certifications

Most European certifications are general certifications of the European Union. Europe has developed and issued a series of certifications and marks for products sold in the US market. These certifications help improve the efficiency of product circulation in the European market and are an authoritative recognition of product quality and safety. It is worth mentioning that due to the professionalism, uniformity, and wide circulation of American standards, many other countries and regions also recognize American certifications and standards.

The main European certifications for swimming pool lights include RoHS, CE, VDE, and GS.

RoHS

RoHS stands for Restriction of Hazardous Substances. This directive restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.  The RoHS directive aims to protect human health and the environment by reducing the use of lead, mercury, cadmium and other harmful substances in electronic products. Compliance with RoHS is often a requirement for selling electronic products in the EU and other markets.

In Europe and internationally, it has been recognized by the CENELEC European certification system for electrical products, the European coordinated system of CECC electronic component quality assessment, and the global IEC certification system for electrical products and electronic components. The products evaluated include a wide range of household and commercial appliances, IT equipment, industrial and medical technology equipment, assembly materials and electronic components, wires and cables, etc.

UL
